Ape Alert ("we", "our", "the app") is an ADHD reminder application that places phone calls and sends SMS messages to help you remember important tasks. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account.
Phone number: The phone number you enter in settings, used solely to place reminder calls and send reminder SMS messages.
Reminder data: Messages, scheduled times, recurrence settings, and status of your reminders.
Purchase history: Apple In-App Purchase transaction identifiers for token purchases.
Device information: Basic device type and OS version included in HTTP requests for compatibility.

2. How We Use Your Information

Place reminder calls and SMS: Your phone number is used exclusively to deliver the reminders you schedule.
Account authentication: Your email and password are used to sign you in securely.
Process purchases: Transaction data is used to credit tokens to your account.
Improve the service: Aggregated, anonymized usage data may be used to improve reliability.

3. What We Do NOT Do

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing.
We do not use your phone number for advertising or promotional messages.
We do not track your location.
We do not access your contacts beyond the single Ape Alert caller contact (with your permission).

4. Third-Party Services

Telnyx: Telecommunications provider used to place phone calls and send SMS. Your phone number is transmitted to Telnyx solely for call/SMS delivery. Telnyx Privacy Policy
PocketHost / PocketBase: Backend hosting for account data and reminders.
Apple: In-App Purchase processing via the App Store.
Resend: Email delivery for account verification and password reset emails.

5. SMS & Call Messaging

When you enter your phone number in the app, you consent to receive reminder calls and SMS messages at the times you schedule. You can opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for assistance. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on the reminders you create.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers hosted by PocketHost. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Authentication tokens are stored in your device's secure Keychain. We use HTTPS for all data transmission.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the Account tab in the app, which permanently removes all your data including reminders, purchase history, and personal information.

8. Children's Privacy

Ape Alert is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
